Leigh Wood vs Michael Conlan fight 2022 predictions, updates, how to watch, live team news, stats, stream kick-off time Score

A former British super bantamweight, British featherweight, and Commonwealth featherweight champion, Wood competed in The Golden Contract tournament in 2019. He lost to Jazza Dickens in the semifinals. Since then, Wood has won two in a row. He last fought in July, beating Xu Can via TKO for the WBA featherweight title.

“In my opinion I don’t think Mick’s every been in a 50/50 fight, this is new for him, but I’ve come through those challenges,” Wood said during the pre-fight press conference. “I’ve been in the bookies not favorite and come out the other side from a pressure point of view. He is right, there’s going to be a lot of people and a lot of pressure, but I thrive on pressure. My whole career I’ve been thrown in and come out the other side, we’ve got seven weeks to find out and I can’t wait.”

Conlan last fought in August, beating T.J. Doheny for the interim WBA featherweight title. He is ready to fulfill his destiny by becoming a major world champion.

“This is the start of my journey to become the best fighter in the world, once I win this belt, I’ll go on to do what I have to do after,” Conlan said. “I have to win this belt first before I even have to think about that.”
